Abbott Laboratories, Abbott Park, IL, has entered into an agreement to acquire ZonePerfect Nutrition Company, Beverley, MA. Under the terms of the agreement, Abbott will acquire all of the equity of ZonePerfect Nutrition, a privately held company, for approximately $160 million in cash. The transaction will not have an impact on Abbott’s 2003 earnings per share guidance and is expected to close during the third quarter of 2003.
